Happy New Year to everyone! I wanted to kick off the new year with my 4th poem. It’s actually my last one…unless I get inspired again. The image in the poem is the London Eye.

Happy New Year to everyone! I wanted to kick off the new year with my 4th poem. It’s actually my last one…unless I get inspired again. The image in the poem is the London Eye.

I haven’t posted one of my poems on my site since February 2010. I think it’s time for another one. I don’t have many, but I’ll share them all here…one at a time though. If anyone ever browsed my old deviantART gallery, then you’ve probably read all my poems already. Well, just consider this a reboot. I would like to say that my poetry style varies. Sometimes I like words to rhyme and sometimes I don’t. It all depends on how I want to express the poem’s theme. I’m not a seasoned poet. Poetry is the only time I write off the top of my head without planning our outlines…unlike how I approach writing novels and short stories.

I appreciate when people take the time to make things for my stories. That’s why I like to showcase fanmade work. It’s a good feeling to know I’ve inspired readers to make videos, wallpapers, a Facebook group, write fanfiction and song lyrics. Today I’m happy to share a piece of poetry. ‘One Heart’ is the first and only poem about my characters Tristan & Bridget that anyone has sent me. It was written by a young woman named Britt who I’ve known for a long time. Her poem was first showcased a few years ago on my old Toby Hemingway fanfiction website. I spoke to her recently and she was kind enough to remind me about it. The artwork was designed by an old LiveJournal friend of mine named Mystik Rose.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, which is less than 2 weeks away, I decided to share a poem I wrote about Tristan & Bridget from my book A Rose to the Fallen. I wrote it years ago, so it’s not new, but I know a lot of my new readers haven’t read it. I’ll admit that poetry is not my forte. I’ve only written 4 poems in my life, but sometimes I get inspired and try to write a few verses. This is the only poem I’ve written related to my book characters. Just a fair warning, the poem CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THE BOOK!
