About the paranormal in A Rose to the Fallen

A Rose to the Fallen, Bridget, Tristan

There will be spoilers in this post, so if you haven’t read A Rose to the Fallen and don’t want to be spoiled, I suggest you stop reading now.

Before I get to the point, I want to say to those of you who understood or liked the paranormal weaved throughout A Rose to the Fallen, this post isn’t addressed to you and you don’t have to read it. I’m directing my comments to the people who:

- Don’t get it.
- Think the paranormal didn’t work in the story.
- Think I just threw it in there as an after-thought.
- Think it didn’t make sense that Tristan is an angel. Read more »

Yes, my hero is bisexual!

A Rose to the Fallen, Bridget, Tristan

I recently read this discussion on Amazon where people started talking about A Rose to the Fallen. I was actually surprised. The most common gripe was about Tristan being bisexual, and the sex scene between him and Justin. This includes the claim that Bridget was acting out of character. In between people complaining about that, they had issues with the ending, the paranormal aspect, and the editing. I popped in for a quick minute to thank one person who did enjoy my book. She wanted to read more from me, as long as the hero was straight, so I told her about The Howling Heart. Riley is a 100% heterosexual werewolf. Anyway, the whole point of this post is that reading the discussion reminded me of an earlier post I wrote in response to readers’ comments about the gay sex in my book and Bridget’s actions. I wanted to just copy and paste it into the discussion, but then I thought, That’s just too much text. Oh well.

About the boy-on-boy scene in A Rose to the Fallen

A Rose to the Fallen, Bridget, Tristan

There will be spoilers in this post, so if you haven’t read A Rose to the Fallen and don’t want to be spoiled, I suggest you stop reading now.

Moving along…

I’m writing this commentary in response to some of the emails and reviews I’ve read regarding the topic. I’m not surprised some of my readers have a problem with what I’ll call “The Tristan & Justin Chapter”. I’m not going to apologize for what I wrote because I don’t regret writing it, but I will explain my reasons for those of you who thought:

- The story could’ve done without it.
- It was out of character for Bridget to have the boy-on-boy fantasy and ask Tristan to fulfill it.
- It was out of character for Tristan to agree to do it.
- If Bridget loves Tristan so much, why would she want to see him with another guy? Read more »

Bridget t-shirt

A Rose to the Fallen, Bridget

I’m truly amazed and flattered when people tell me certain things remind them of my characters. It means my story has left an impression in their mind. A couple months ago, a reader named Ann sent me a pic of a wolf and a woman in a loving pose because it reminded her of Riley’s ancestors Erik & Anya. This morning I got an email from a reader named Stephanie who sent me a pic and link to a t-shirt sold by CafePress. She described the pic as “a shirt Tristan would buy for Bridget and MAKE her wear.” When I read the writing on the shirt, I busted out laughing. What a way to start the morning. Stephanie also added, “he’d get her the pink one because he knows it’s her fave color.” I was highly amused, but surprised at the same time because I didn’t know a shirt like that existed. Thanks Stephanie!

New A Rose to the Fallen trailer!

A Rose to the Fallen, Book Trailer, Bridget, Fanvideo, News, Toby Hemingway, Tristan

I’m happy to announce that Tiffany D. finished the mock trailer for A Rose to the Fallen. I think it’s beautiful and I love that actors Toby Hemingway and Kate Mara are portraying Tristan & Bridget. They’re my #1 picks if my book was ever adapted for a film. The trailer is more than I imagined; from the video clips, the captions, the music, and the special effects at the end. I’m truly impressed by Tiffany’s creativity and imagination. I actually started crying when I first watched it. I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart for creating such a perfect trailer. My book is a romance with a lot of emotion weaved throughout the story. She really captured that in the trailer and brought my characters and their story to life.
