Upcoming book blasts and promos for THH

Book Tour, Book Trailer, News, The Howling Heart

Lately, I’ve been busy researching different sites that offer marketing and promotional services for authors. In addition to the review tour hosted by CBL Book Tours, I’ve scheduled the following:

- One Day Book Blitz by Bookish Brunette Book Tours
- Release Day Blitz by Bewitching Book Tours
- Release Day Promotional Blast by Promotional Book Tours

I plan to hire Pump Up Your Book for a book blast and I’ll contact them next month. I also contacted TLC Book Tours for a 10-blog tour. They’re scheduling me for September, but nothing is finalized yet. Tiffany D. agreed to make a professional book advert video. She’s the young woman who made the amazing fanvideos on YouTube for my novels. I will be paying for her services, of course.

I can honestly say the biggest downside to being published through small presses is all the money I have to spend for marketing. My publishers do some marketing, but I have to do most of it out-of-pocket, especially if I want my books to do well. I’m actually taking a HUGE financial risk by doing all this, because there’s no guarantee I’ll have high book sales or I’ll make a profit. I really hope it’s worth it by the time my contracts expire.

The Howling Heart trailer has arrived!

Alex Pettyfer, Alexis Bledel, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

I think Tiffany D.’s new mock movie trailer for The Howling Heart is better than the one she created for A Rose to the Fallen. The video is not in HD like she wanted because her computer couldn’t handle the rendering, but it’s still a very good quality. There are more sounds, music, and dialogue. There’s lots of clips of British actor Alex Pettyfer as Riley. It’s only fitting since he inspired the story and the character. The scenes in the beginning with Alexis Bledel as Paige are nearly perfect, and the special effects at the end are really creative. Tiffany’s trailers are the closest my novels will get to being films. This trailer is the most special to me because The Howling Heart is the last novel I’m writing.

Tiffany, if you read this… thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’re truly talented and your trailers have done wonders helping to promote my novels. I know you’re a fan of mine, but I’ll always be a fan of yours too!

The Howling Heart trailer update

Alex Pettyfer, Alexis Bledel, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

I wasn’t going to post this update because I didn’t want to tease anyone who’s anticipating the release of Tiffany D.’s fanmade trailer for The Howling Heart. But I had second thoughts because I know some of you are waiting. I received an email from Tiffany earlier this week and her trailer is finished, but it’s not uploaded to YouTube yet. She was having problems rendering the video because it’s high-definition and her computer is not powerful enough to handle it. She’s on vacation now, so unfortunately she won’t be able to upload the video until she returns home. She said the trailer should be uploaded in early December. It’s going to be on her second channel because she has a couple strikes from YouTube on her main channel. She said she doesn’t want to risk getting another strike and having her main channel deleted. Her trailer for A Rose to the Fallen is on her main channel. I’ll admit the anticipation is killing me! She said I’m really going to like the trailer. I have no doubts because she’s an amazing video editor and her trailers are very realistic. I’ll let you in on a few details she did share with me. The trailer will feature Alex Pettyfer as Riley and Alexis Bledel as Paige. The songs featured will be Within Temptation’s “The Howling” and Safetysuit’s “Find A Way”. I already shared Safetysuit’s song in an earlier post, so here’s “The Howling”. Take a listen and let the trailer countdown begin!

THH trailer from Tiffany D. in the works!

Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News, The Howling Heart

Tonight I received an email from Tiffany D. and she told me she finished reading The Howling Heart. She loved the story and I’m happy to announce that she plans to create a fanvideo for it. For those of you not familiar with Tiffany, she’s a talented video editor from Australia and very popular on YouTube for her Twilight fanvideos. She also created an amazing and realistic trailer for A Rose to the Fallen. She told me she has three weeks left of college and then she’ll start working on the video. I’m so excited and I’m highly anticipating it! Tiffany already created a beautiful video about Tristan & Bridget. I can’t wait to see what her imagination creates for Riley & Paige. :D

New A Rose to the Fallen trailer!

A Rose to the Fallen, Book Trailer, Bridget, Fanvideo, News, Toby Hemingway, Tristan

I’m happy to announce that Tiffany D. finished the mock trailer for A Rose to the Fallen. I think it’s beautiful and I love that actors Toby Hemingway and Kate Mara are portraying Tristan & Bridget. They’re my #1 picks if my book was ever adapted for a film. The trailer is more than I imagined; from the video clips, the captions, the music, and the special effects at the end. I’m truly impressed by Tiffany’s creativity and imagination. I actually started crying when I first watched it. I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart for creating such a perfect trailer. My book is a romance with a lot of emotion weaved throughout the story. She really captured that in the trailer and brought my characters and their story to life.

Updates and The Howling Heart sequel

A Rose to the Fallen, Book Covers, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News, The Howling Heart

Tiffany is still working on the book trailer for A Rose to the Fallen. I spoke to her a few weeks ago and it seems to be going well. It’s challenging for her to find the right videos so she can put the clips together. I think she’s going to use the love poem on my MySpace to tell Tristan & Bridget’s story in the trailer. She said she really liked it, and I think that would be really cool if she used it. I’m not sure when she’ll be finished, but I hope it’s very soon. I’ll let everyone know when the trailer is up. She said, “I want to have something that your readers and even new-comers to the book will watch and then say..’I would LOVE to see that film’.” Me too! :) I can’t wait, I’m so excited! She enjoyed my book so much, she said she’s reading it again. I believe she’ll be hosting the trailer on her YouTube channel. We both agreed that she should put a rating on it because my book is for adults. Her underage viewers shouldn’t read it, so they probably won’t see the video. I think that’s how ratings work on YouTube. I’ve never uploaded a video there in my life, so I’m not sure. Read more »

Tiffany’s book trailer update

A Rose to the Fallen, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News

Four months ago, I mentioned that a young woman named Tiffany was reading A Rose to the Fallen and may create a book trailer for it. She is known on YouTube as tiffanyd666 and her Twilight fanvideos are very popular. Her New Moon trailer currently has over 10 million views and her Eclipse trailer has over 2 million. I wanted to give an update on the status. I spoke to her a couple days ago and she said she has about 100 pages left to read of my book. She’s been busy with school, but I’m pretty sure she has plans to create the trailer. She told me she was really enjoying the book. I thought it was funny when she told me she was worried I may not like her trailer and didn’t want me to be disappointed. I know if she creates it, I’ll like it. I enjoy watching all of her videos. She’s a very talented video editor and has a great imagination. I’m very excited about this because I know she’ll do an amazing job bringing my characters to life. Stay tuned!

1st fanmade book trailer!

A Rose to the Fallen, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News

I’m being honest when I say that I’m amazed and truly humbled when my readers create things for my book. Whether it be fanfiction, fanart, or in this case…a fanmade trailer. In previous updates, I spoke about one of my readers named Kay who wrote the first-ever A Rose to the Fallen fanfiction. Now I’m pleased to announce that she created the first-ever trailer for my book. While waiting to hear from Tiffany about her book trailer, Kay surprised me with a trailer of her own. I’m so happy my book has inspired her creativity that I have to share it with everyone. Thank you again, Kay!

Fanmade book trailer in the works!

A Rose to the Fallen, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News

I have some exciting news to share today. Tiffany, the creator of the infamous New Moon trailer, may create a book trailer for A Rose to the Fallen! She read the first chapter of my book on this site and she liked it. Now she’s reading the rest of the story. Her New Moon trailer has over 7 MILLION views and she has tens of thousands of subscribers. I’m hoping that when she creates my trailer, it will help my book gain more exposure and potential readers. And I really hope Tiffany likes the rest of the story. I told her I didn’t want her to create the trailer if she doesn’t like the book because I know her heart won’t be in it. Regardless, she’s fabulous and I want to thank her for taking an interest in my book.
