Night Owl Reviews gave 3.5 stars to Eros, My Love. According to their ratings, a 3.5 means ‘Enjoyable’. I especially like this line in the review: “…it’s a fast read, a quick kiss just before bed!” I’m glad they liked my short story because they gave my first novel A Rose to the Fallen 5 stars and made it a Top Pick. Actually…they reviewed it twice! Two different reviewers read the story. I want to send thanks to Erona Diane Hill for giving Eros, My Love a great review.
My first review for Eros, My Love comes from Sizzling Hot Book Reviews. They gave it 3 hearts, which means ‘Good! Read it when you can.’ I want to thank Stacey for reading my short story and giving it a good review.
Today is the official release date of my first short story Eros, My Love.
I’m so excited because it’s been three years since I released a book. If you decide to purchase it, I hope you enjoy it. The e-book is $1.99 on most sites. I updated my site and changed the Novel page to “Books” so I could showcase my novel and my short story. I included a few buy links for Eros, My Love, and added a link for Goodreads. My publisher informed me that distributors like the iBookstore has an internal review process of their own, and my title should hopefully be available for sale there within a month. Lightning Source distributes to various retailers within a couple of weeks, such as the Sony eBookstore. I emailed over 20 book review sites yesterday, so I hope to receive some reviews soon. And of course, I hope to get some on Amazon too. Gotta love those reviews.

A few people emailed me and asked if I submitted The Howling Heart to such-and-such publisher. I decided to just post a list so you know what publishers already received my novel. I had researched numerous publishers that accepted unsolicited manuscripts AND paranormal romances of more than 80,000 words, and queried the ones I felt would be the best fit for me. I’m not listing the literary agencies I queried because there are too many and the rejections are too damn long.

Last night, I received a rejection from Noble Romance Publishing for The Howling Heart. After they had rejected Eros, My Love, I should’ve realized they wouldn’t be the right fit for my novel. They obviously don’t like my writing. But I thought maybe they’d enjoy the novel better than my short story. Wrong! Now, I’m waiting for responses from Harlequin’s Mills & Boon and Macmillan’s Tor. Dorchester Publishing still hasn’t reopened submissions. They’ve been closed since March. I doubt they will reopen before the year is over, but I’ll keep checking. So… two publishers left and three months to go before this traditional publishing attempt for my last novel comes to an end.
Decadent Publishing just showed me the final cover for my second short story Right Here, Right Now. I didn’t choose the couple for this cover like I did for Eros, My Love. The design is totally from the cover designer Mina’s imagination. But I think she nailed it. I wanted sexy and romantic, and that’s exactly what she gave me. There is no release date yet, but as soon as I find out, I’ll post an update.
