I’ve been reading about FictionPress, and I’ve learned that the site has a huge problem with plagiarism. I’ve also noticed I’m not receiving many reviews. I have over 100 people with Story Alerts, and I’m averaging 7 reviews per chapter. Since I’m almost done with the story, I’m no longer concerned about reviews. But I am concerned about someone stealing my copyrighted work. Therefore, I’ll be removing The Howling Heart from FictionPress permanently. I decided to host it on my site because I don’t feel like putting all the chapters back on my LiveJournal. I’ve updated the link in the Other Stories section. The entire story is on one page, but I’ll update it when I add a new chapter.
For anyone reading The Howling Heart on my LiveJournal, I removed the chapters there because I decided to just host the story on FictionPress (like I did in the beginning). The reason I’m doing this is because every time I make an edit, I have to do it in two places. And sometimes I forget to do it on LiveJournal, and then I can’t remember what I changed on FictionPress. But if the story ever gets removed from FictionPress, I’ll put it back on LiveJournal. I already updated my entries on LiveJournal and added links to each chapter on FictionPress.
A Rose to the Fallen will be on display in the New Title Showcase at the Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany tomorrow October 14-18. This will be the last of four book fairs where my book will be displayed in 2009. Earlier this year, it was at the London Book Fair, BookExpo America, and the Beijing International Book Fair. For more information on the Frankfurt International Book Fair, you can visit the official site.
